We shouldn't be surprised at this development. The security of the border of the United States is not on the list of priorities of the Obama administration. Hence, they would rather see the money used to maintain and monitor these radar sites put to other good uses.

The problem with that reasoning is that it assumes the Obama administration actually cares about what's legal. What they worry about is what they can get away with.

No doubt you heard of the other Texas theater shooting spree in San Antonio.

Oh wait, the perpetrator was shot by an off-duty sheriff packing a concealed weapon working in the theater before he could kill anyone. Can't have the MSM indoctrinating the masses with that by reporting on that every hour for it doesn't fit the narrative.

You've probably also heard that economist John Lott claims that the Aurora shooter had a choice of seven movie theaters w/in a 20 minute drive that were showing the Batman flick and he chose the one that wasn't the largest or the closest to his home, but it was the only one that had signs posted banning concealed weapons on the premises. Oh wait! That doesn't fit the narrative either.
